VELUX Burglary Resistant Windows
A strengthened roof window design keeps your home extra secure.
Breaking and entering through a roof window is extremely rare, and shouldn’t keep you awake at night. Only if the roof slope and location of your roof window allows easy access for persons to work safely and unseen, it could be deemed wise to consider a security upgrade. That’s where VELUX Burglary Resistant Windows come in.
Features
Burglary Resistant Design
Extra-long anti-theft screws
The wooden variant GGL 70Q, available in white-paint or clear lacquer, is strengthened with reinforcement screws in the frame and sash. (Same strength obtain maintenance free variant GGU without reinforcement screws).
Reinforcement of the hinges
The construction is further strengthened with screw bolts and nuts on the hinges.
Prevention of window pane removal
The pane is glued to the sash and thus disallows anyone from forcing an entry by dismantling the window-pane assembly.
Thermo-Modified Wood
Compared to standard GGU windows, the GGU 70Q has an extra strong core of thermo-modified wood under the seamless PU coating.
Natural Ventilation
Let fresh air into your home even when you are away or sleeping, without having to worry about security or bad weather. Pull the unique top control bar once and you will allow fresh, filtered air to enter through the ventilation flap. This is a standard feature not only on the 70Q but on all centre pivot and top hung VELUX® windows.
Discreet Locks
An extremely sturdy design with strong, discreet locks in the frame and sash makes the GGL/GGU 70Q exceptionally resilient as well as aesthetically pleasing.
The key is designed to be placed on the handle bar for your convenience.
Achieve the highest burglar resistance classification
EN 1627 class 2 is the highest burglar resistance classification obtained on the roof window market.
The use of laminated security glazing, complies with security standard EN 356, class P4A, is tested and classified standard for resistance against manual attack.
Class P4A means that the glazing can endure the effect of a 4.1 kg steel ball being dropped three times directly onto the surface from nine meters. Thats the equivelent of dropping this 4kg kettle bell from the top of 2 giraffes 3 times but VELUX® used a slightly more accurate system to prove this feature.
